Is Keyshia letting it go or holding on?

One of my favorite R&B singer's Keyshia Cole has confirmed her relationship with ATL rapper Young Jeezy. It has long been rumored that these two were an item. They are always seen around ATL out & about although it is known that Jeezy has jumpoffs on the side. Keyshia always hinted during interviews about their relationship, but Jeezy would always shrug off the rumors when asked. I love this hood couple. Are they hood? YES. Do I think Keyshia can do better? YES. But I love seeing black love grow through it ALL.

Keyshia graced the cover of Essence Magazine this past
summer where she stated she broke off an engagement because of her fear of not fully being ready to committ to someone besides her family and career. She stated in the article that she was sad to break things off, but had grown very close to the ex-fiance 10 year old son. Rumored jumpoffs have surfaced during this romance claiming Jeezy was their man. My thing is.....Keyshia inspired me to LET IT GO.....so ladies if he is not claiming you as #1..... please let it go and move on! Never make someone a priority who only makes YOU an option. But all in all, I wish the Snowman and Ms. Cole the best because everyone deserves LOVE.

GIANT DEFEAT!

In case you have been hiding under a rug....THE NEW YORK GIANTS won the 2008 Super Bowl against the Patriots! The underdog certainly came out on top. The New York Giants achieved one of the biggest upsets in NFL history with a 17-14 victory over the previously undefeated New England Patriots in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Producing Dreams

So my friend called me the other day and said turn to MTV....Mike Winans is on "Making the Band". I turned it on and said 'thats not Mike' because of his shaved head I didn't immediately recognize him. I looked closer and yes it was Mike from high school. He left when we were in the 10th grade at King to go on the road with his group Phase II, made up of him and his cousins. Its always good to see Detroit home grown talent make it big. Not like it was a surprise seeing how Mike came from a gospel music legacy. Ummm maybe you know them.....the Winans family. Right! His cousin Mario Winans has long produced some of P. Diddy's greatest music hits for Bad Boy Records. So it was a no-brainer. Hell it pays to have family in the biz. Its was good seeing Mike in the studio produce tracks for the guys of Making the Band. I absolutely have no interest in Danity Kane or the new boy band members, but it was just good seeing Mike do his thing.

This got me to thinking about my own dreams. Yes, I am always dreaming...hint, hint the name DinaDREAM. See my dream is to marry a God-fearing (most important) producer/songwriter so I can help him create in the studio. NO not Mike Winans. Stay with me people. Your laughing....but I am serious. As a successful team, I want to be the radio-personality and he the producing hitmaker. I want the house here in Gross Pointe by the water AND in Atlanta with a Range Rover in the driveway. Atlanta is where we will raise the kids and we will come home to Gross Pointe in the summer to visit. I know a couple from Detroit in their mid-30's, who actually made this a reality. She started out in hair school and he started out making beats in his basement with a friend. They are now married with three kids. She has her own salon on Atlanta's famous Auburn Ave and opening a clothing boutique soon.

He along with his writing partner now produce for Keyshia Cole, Jennifer Lopez and Usher. We visited there home in Atlanta and I had to pick my face up from their living room floor when I walked in. The Range Rover and Escalade in the driveway only made the home shine more. He invited us to see the now million dollar studio it took him 7 years to complete in southwest ATL. They have had struggles for sure. According to my cousin she once filed for divorce.

My cousin and I attended the surprise birthday party she threw for him at the Body Tap gentlemen's club in Atlanta. I had a ball! As money was flying everywhere I looked over at them as she was seating on his lap by the stage. He was holding her and they were looking at each other and kissing like they were the only people in the room. They almost made me cry. I love seeing black love. I thought about them the entire way home that night in ATL. Just like Jay & Bey, they truly inspired me. So I will hold on to my dream of finding my hitmaker damn it, so we can create baby-making music together....lol! Remember you should always hold onto producing your dreams too!

Love Behind each of Raheem's Melody....

Who does Raheem DeVaughn think he is?
.
If you have not heard his new CD
"Love Behind the Melody" you need to cop it A.S.A.P! I love music in general like my love for water. Although the game has changed over the years I love rap music still. I never really been a R&B chick, but lately my father musical influence has worn on me as I am liking to listen to jazz more. I would awake to my father blaring jazz and old school Marvin Gaye from the stereo. Maybe I am just getting older. I have been listening to Miles Davis, Simply Red, and The Manhattan Transfer. So when I do get a good R&B CD in my stereo I love it. Recently I have played out Keyshia Cole "Just Like You" and Mary J. Blige "Growing Pains" CD's. But these CD's have nothing on Raheem DeVaughn new CD.

I was on my way home last night on a 30 minute drive from a friend's birthday party at Vision's nightclub. I popped in Raheem's new CD to finally listen to it and boy did he take my heart for a ride.
"Woman" and "Customer" already have hit the radio waves, but believe me when I tell you these singles are just a prelude to the real deal. There are so MANY favorites. The single "Marathon" featuring Floetry will have you steaming up the windows in the bedroom, begging your partner to crack a window. But wait....the brother became Marvin Gaye reincarnated on "Desire". This song will have your bed spinning as you make love thinking 'I love him, NO... I hate him'. The boy did his thing on this CD let me tell you!! Then there is "Can We Try Again" and "She's Not You" which are favorites of mine too.

So whatever you do, make sure you go out and buy this CD because there is definitely love behind Raheem's melody!

KLS not stuntin these h*es!

Ms. Kimora Lee Simmons held her Baby Phat/KLS Collection runway show last night during New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Many celebrities came out in attendance including: Vivica A. Fox, Amerie, Star Jones, her kids godmother and best friend Tyra Banks, new beau Djimon Hounsou and Mr. Russell Simmons himself. She did her signature runway walk at the end of the show with her "diva's in training" daughters Ming & Aoki. I think it's so cute how her and Russell bring their significant others to each other parties. It couldn't be me Kimora, but I know for Kimora her media mogul ex Russell groomed her for this business. So they are forever business confidants and partners. So in other words, Kimora not stuntin these h*es!
.
Russell's beautiful girlfriend model Porschla Coleman was not in attendance at the show last night. Wow, so what that tell you?! This fashion empress reality show "Kimora: Life In The Fab Lane" will be returning to the E! network for another season. I am sure it will be filled with fabulousity! And is that an engagement ring on Kimora's left hand? Stay tuned...

Demand more respect Detroit & we will GET MORE Detroit!

So I know all of Detroit was tuned in last night as the Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick staged apology was televised from Greater Emmanuel Church of God. This sour news of the "Text Message Scandal" broke to Detroit and the nation last week by the Detroit Free Press. I believe Carlita not Kwame speech was sincere. As a citizen of my wonderful city of Detroit I was not impressed. The thing of it is....Kwame can sleep with the entire state of Michigan if he wants....Carlita and God will have to be his judge for that, but when we are talking about 9 million dollars that could have went to save closing schools or bringing jobs to Detroit that is where I get pissed. So many people voiced an outcry in support of the mayor as if this was a personal attack against him. Well it is not!!! The citizens of Detroit are tired. Its time to clean house. Everyone in City Hall is family!!!! That is not okay and until we start demanding more from are elected officials we will continue to remain a city that the world laughs at. Everyone always ask me why I returned home to Detroit and moved back from Atlanta. When I say I was homesick....they laugh?! But the truth is I was honestly homesick. I felt like why would I lend my talent as an aspiring radio personality to a city that is not of ME...DinaDREAM. Don't get me wrong, I ABSOLUTELY love Atlanta. I will be returning there to raise my family, but I want to help the movement HERE. I network and go to different parties and events in the city and I am learning Detroit really has some great mover and shakers on their grind here. See the thing is Atlanta does have a MOVEMENT...they truly stick together! You go down there and it looks like everyone is the Huxtables. Here in Detroit we are often referred to as a "Crab in the Barrel" city. And that is exactly what this current Mayor has exemplified. Me, Myself and I....this philosophy will get us no where as a community. For Mr. Kilpatrick his 1st and 2nd terms has been about satisfying the needs of himself and his own interest not Detroiter's needs...POINT BLANK! Call a spade a SPADE people.

I think he gave it his best shot, but to be serious its time for Detroit to clean house and move on. Detroit should be focused on getting more jobs here, putting a mall in the city, retaining college educated professionals, saving our kids schools, and getting a basketball stadium so we can have a damn ALL-STAR game here. The suburban folks laugh at us everytime they leave Detroit at 5pm and return to their communities. We have a beautiful city....Detroiters. That is one of the reasons I chose to move home to downtown Detroit and not out to the suburbs. Every morning when the sun wakes me up I look out my 18th floor window and look over into Canada. I love the water and its absolutely beautiful. Not many cities can say that. We have to hold ourselves to a higher standard. We don't have to be thugs and corrupt to get PAID Detroit. I felt that so many people in Detroit support him because a lot of people live their life here, as trying to just get by without hardwork, using women, manipulating people, sleeping with several women as if its okay, etc. Not all citizens of Detroit, but the point is the MENTALITY of people here has to change if we want to become a city like Chicago or Atlanta like we once were. You get so many slaps on the hand. WAKE UP Detroit or next election if we don't choose wisely we will get exactly what we deserve! And please don't forget the women who are no longer here. Strippers, call girls, prostitute's....whatever you want to call them....they lost their life in this mess. Remember Tamara "Strawberry" Greene cause like Kwame she had 3 kids she left behind too. The truth shall be revealed all in the end.

As for Carlita...I honestly respect her. Do I think she should have spoke last night.....NO. Her Image Consultant did not advise her well on that suit she wore. She should have been impeccable in dress, hair and make-up. But understandably Kwame is stressing her out. I hope she really just spoke to ask the media to spare her children from this mess not the Mayor. She is doing what a wife is suppose to do....standing by her husband. Regardless, she has to be with him after his term is over. So she SHOULD stand by him...thats her duty before God. Hell....she may have to stand by him after he leaves office and faces a jury about the murder of 2 women who died senselessly. But I tell you this I would have dressed up as a NINJA...broke into the Manoogian mansion while Kwame was sleep and beat his ass like never before. Carlita should slap him into 2010 for putting his family through this and beat Christine Beatty just for thinking she was seriously the ONE! Sorry but that would have made me feel better THEN I would have went to church to repent and ask God to forgive me for that butt kicking....lol.

But seriously Detroit I hope this saga will end after 2009 election and we rise to be the world class city of the Midwest that we have the potential to be again!

Salt 'n' Pepa hit Vh1 with 2nd season

Our favorite original girl group will return to Vh1 February 11th for a 2nd season of the "Salt 'n' Pepa" show. Also returning for a 2nd season is Irv Gotti show "Gotti's Way". I loved this show last season, it was amazing to see Deb Lorenzo attempt to stand by her stubborn husband Irv Gotti, arrogant ass. So will Deb finally walk away from her seemingly impossible marriage? Hmm...we will just have to tune in and see. I know I will be watching.

Also returning to Vh1 is a another dreadful 3rd season of Flavor of Love and Jaime Foxx will host a charm school for the guys
"From Gs to Gents".

Rihanna....2008 "It Girl"

Rihanna really came up in '07 didn't she?!

That haircut really gave her a fabulous make over. This Barbados beauty recently cut her hair even shorter. I won't lie when Rihanna first hit the R&B scene I was not feeling her. I thought she was trying to steal Ciara thunder. She has proved to be her own woman as an artist.

Go ahead Ri-Ri show 'em what you working with!

Okay....I'm back!

Happy New Year! Wow its already February. I have neglected my site DinaDREAM for sure. My schedule has been really hectic. But I am back! Where have I been? Well with the holidays, work, radio internship, and working out. A girl stays busy, I have to schedule sleep. Seriously.

I have been strategizing on how to devote more time to the site. I absolutely love reporting on celebrities. I have been gossiping about celebs since my days in the lunchroom at high school. I also just love reporting news in general. So here I am back to give you the latest in what everyone else is talking about.

Enjoy
